Minecraft Update 1.21

Minecraft Update 1.21 brought a lot of new features, new blocks, and even new mobs.  For those of you who have not played the update or just want to know, I’ve made a full run through of what’s new in this. Without further ado, let’s get into it!

Breeze – New Mob

With this new update, it brought a new mob – the Breeze. This new mob can spawn in the Overworld (however, only in the trial chambers), and instead of shooting fireballs like it’s flame counter part, the Blaze, it shoots wind. This wind does damage and knocks you back. The attack range is 16 blocks, making for a hard fight against this hostile mob. However, something that gives a new edge to this mob is that it can interact with doors, levers, and even pressure plates with it’s wind attack. On the other hand, you can deflect it’s attacks by hitting the wind with your sword at the right time. The wind attack can also be stopped by a shield. Something cool about this mob is that it’s attack can actually extinguish lit candles, so be sure to test that when you log on to Minecraft. But be careful, since the attack explodes once it hits something. The Breeze can also deflect projectiles, so it’s wiser to use a melee weapon over a ranged weapon. The Breeze is also difficult to hit, since it bounces around just like a slime. Once you manage to defeat the Breeze, it can drop a breeze rod. This can be broken down into 4 wind charges. Wind charges act like a fireball, except the “fire” part is replaced with the breeze’s attack. It has all the same qualities that a Breeze’s attack has.

Mace – New Weapon

Well, the Minecraft arsenal was getting boring, so Mojang (creator of Minecraft) thought it was time to add a new weapon. Behold the Mace, the newest weapon to be added in Minecraft (for update 1.21, of course). The Mace is crafted by a breeze rod and a heavy core (the heavy core will be explained later). The Mace acts like a normal iron sword- dealing 6 hearts. However, it takes around 2 seconds of cooldown to swing it again. However, the twist comes with this- the longer you fall, the more damage you will deal. This might sound confusing to the most of you, but take it like this: if you jump off a certain height, and at the right time hit your opponent, you will deal more damage. The longer the height you fall before hitting your enemy, the more damage you will do. This is where things get overpowered. With this weapon, you can even one-shot the Warden, a mob with a lot of health (500 hearts, to be exact). The Mace can be enchanted with three things; Density, Breach, and Wind Burst. Density adds extra damage to when you fall and hit an enemy. Breach makes the Mace penetrate armor, and Wind Burst launches you into the sky when you successfully land a smash attack (falling and then hitting your enemy – the same  thing I said before).

Heavy Core – New Item/Block
